  • Base Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 per year

As the Brand and Content Creator at Sessions by the Bay, you will work under the direction of the Marketing Director, bringing your content creation skills to the forefront. You will be responsible for executing all content creation efforts, ensuring that visuals, videos, and social media posts align with the brand’s tone and identity. Your role is hands-on—you’ll capture, edit, and deliver the fire content that showcases the best of our lounge and cannabis culture. Your primary focus will be on overseeing the execution of the brand’s visual identity, managing the content calendar, and driving audience engagement through creative and compelling content. You will play a pivotal role in developing our brand and ensuring a cohesive presence across all digital and in-store platforms. This role is for someone who can set trends, tell captivating stories, and elevate the vibe of the lounge in ways others might not even imagine.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation, Editing & Delivery

  • Capture, edit, and deliver content across various platforms, from photography to video production.
  • Storytelling & Trendsetting: Be the trendsetter. Create content that tells the unique story of Sessions by the Bay and shapes cannabis hospitality and culture.
  • Graphic Design: Create high-quality visuals using Photoshop, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite for digital, print, and event marketing materials.
  • Video Production & Editing: Capture, produce, and edit videos, including reels, commercials, short films, and event or podcast videos using Adobe Premiere or equivalent software.
  • Reel Creation: Produce short, engaging reels and social media-specific content that will stop the scroll and start the conversation.
  • Manage the content calendar, ensuring timely execution of promotions, product launches, and campaigns.

Brand Management & Consistency

  • Maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency in visual and messaging across all channels.
  • Oversee the development of all branded assets, ensuring they reflect the brand’s tone and identity.
  • Ensure alignment of branding across the consumption lounge, immersive space, and retail dispensary.

Social Media & Digital Presence

  • Lead the execution of social media strategy, ensuring that all platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) are active and engaging.
  • Capture, edit, and produce daily social media content, including photos, videos, and reels.
  • Monitor and analyze social media performance, adjusting strategies based on analytics.

Campaign Execution & Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director on major campaigns, product launches, and promotions.
  • Coordinate cross-channel promotions, including digital, in-store, and event marketing efforts.
  • Ensure all campaigns are cohesive across platforms and meet deadlines.

Performance Analysis & Optimization

  • Analyze content performance using tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, and Alpine IQ.
  • Report on the effectiveness of campaigns and provide recommendations for future optimizations.
  • Refine content strategies based on data-driven insights.

Occasional Collaboration with Freelancers/Agencies

  • While primarily responsible for content creation, you may occasionally collaborate with freelancers or agencies for larger campaigns or special projects when needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Graphic Design Proficiency: Experience with working with 3D modeling, animation, and using Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe After Effects.
  • Photography & Editing: Experience with taking lifestyle photos and using Adobe Lightroom to edit.
  • Hands-on Content Creation: Proven experience capturing, editing, and delivering high-quality content independently, including photography, graphic design, and video production.
  • Storytelling Expertise: You’re not just creative—you’re a storyteller. You know how to craft narratives that resonate with audiences and set trends.
  • Creative Vision: Must be able to think outside the box and come up with clever content strategies that enhance the vibe and atmosphere of the lounge and dispensary.
  • Video Production & Editing: Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere (or equivalent) for video content creation, including reels, commercials, and other video asset needs.
  • Social Media Expertise: Experience creating engaging reels and short-form video content for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, and SEO.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually
  • Bonus: Up to $10,000 annual bonus paid out quarterly based on performance.

  • First, we want to see your experience and hear your voice through a well-crafted cover letter, resume, and portfolio. This will help us assess your background and passion for the role. If we like what we see, you’ll move on to the next step.

Step 2: Creative Challenge

  • If selected, we’ll ask you to complete the following:
  • Creative Approach: In no more than 300 words, describe how you would approach content creation and branding for Sessions by the Bay. Consider elements like visual style, tone, storytelling, and content priorities for social media, digital marketing, and in-store branding.
  • Social Media Post Example: Provide one sample social media post (image or video + caption) that you believe would resonate with our audience.

Step 3: Interview Round

  • If your creative approach and social media post blow us away, you’ll move on to at least one interview round, where we’ll get to know you better and discuss your ideas in more detail.

Step 4: Paid Creative Project (If Needed)

  • Before extending a full offer of employment, we may invite you to complete a paid creative project to give us a real sense of your creative process and deliverables. This step will help us make the final selection.
